I need some moral confidence here-

So I've got a few friends of ..the 45th degree, and granted I don't mind in the least hanging out with them, though imagine one's self in my shoes for a second;
while being propositioned to hit the bars on gay night -no biggie right? -i'm a fairly good sized guy, no worries about any kinda trouble, however, around 8 guys ogled me and tried to buy me drinks, as my buddies lady friend tells me its because I simply come off gay --what the #%!! is one supposed to do?

Supposedly my artistic style of grooming is a bad thing- where does stubble, jeans and a damn good lookin' pea' coat come across as gay?
There 'are' reference pics for basis of opinion if one wishes.
Personally, I think of myself as a bastard child of Till and Dero, (R+ & Oomph!) as one follows their vocal styles -they are also quite drawn to their appearances: -one part hardiness, and one part slick with a BAD ass pair of side burns. Throw these together and I like to think I come out somewhere in the middle. That being said; I was called cute- shy- and my appearance was 'woman gossiped' in a not-so well taken point of critique.
One cannot help but feel... violated on a small level.
